Sarah Oppenheimer
Faculty Fellow
Professor in the Practice, Yale School of Art
Sarah Oppenheimer is an architectural manipulator whose work explores the emergent relations between human and non-human systems. Rhythms and timescales of living systems flow from body to building and back again. The viewer is transformed into an agent of spatial change.
As a CCAM Faculty Fellow, Oppenheimer offers CCAM sponsored courses in the Leeds Studio, where students experiment with the studio’s technical systems, including motion capture and spatialized sound. CCAM is also a partner in the ongoing development of Oppenheimer’s project RR, in collaboration with V2_Lab for the Unstable Media (NL), Atelier Calder (FR), and EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne), Enter the Hyper-Scientific (CH).
Oppenheimer lives and works in New York (US) and Rotterdam (NL), and is a Professor in the Practice at Yale School of Art.
