Rena Kawasaki
Junior Graphic Designer (2026–2027)
Rena Kawasaki (Yale College, 2027) is a senior pursuing a double major in Cognitive Science and Art (Painting and Printmaking) on the pre-law track. Her research in cognitive science focuses on child psychology with the Yale Computational Social Cognition Lab, with a particular interest in emotional repair and the development of social relationships.
As an artist, Rena primarily works in oil on raw canvas and is currently exploring large-scale tapestry as a new medium. She also works as a freelance graphic designer and photographer, collaborating with organizations at Yale and beyond.
Outside the classroom, Rena is deeply involved in Yale's theater and dance communities. She currently serves as a dancer, Co-Artistic Director and Co-Technical Director of Yale's premier hip-hop dance team, Rhythmic Blue. Her favorite theater credits include Merrily We Roll Along (Director and Co-Choreographer), Songs for a New World (Director and Co-Choreographer), Mean Girls (Stage Manager), The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Stage Manager), and Skeleton Crew (Stage Manager).
