This hands-on workshop takes up projection techniques past and present. Learn how to create simple pinhole images and experiment with various projection methods—camera obscura, projection mapping, and projecting onto windows and tactile surfaces. Explore how visual storytelling can move between the analog and the digital.

Designed and taught by Xiwen Zhang (Yale School of Art, Graphic Design, 2026). Special thanks to Christian Killada (David Geffen School of Drama, Projection Design, 2025)
