Come to C-CAMP on Saturday, September 16 at the Center for Collaborative Arts and Media (CCAM) at Yale! Explore emergent technologies, including AI, Unreal Engine, motion capture, and filmmaking, through practical demonstrations and hands-on workshops. Please join us for an art- and architecture-focused working lunch, featuring AI-centric projects in development at CCAM and the Yale School of Architecture and Yale School of Art.

All experience levels welcome!

The workshops are presented with the support of the Yale School of Architecture and Yale School of Art.


MORNING SESSION:

Unreal Engine AI Integration

Taught by Christian Killada, Projection Design MFA ’25, David Geffen School of Drama at Yale

How to create AI models in the programs Google Colab and Jupyter. An introduction the creation of a 360-degree virtual environment with metahuman animation for Unreal Engine integration.

I. Interactive Session: “Combinatory Play” – A hands-on collaborative game exploring Python scripting with ChatGPT using AI models from Suttor’s opera I AM ALAN TURING.

II. Short Project Showcases: Participants will present their ongoing AI-centric projects.

III. Open Forum & Lunch: A discussion about the current and future landscape of AI in art and architecture.

Introductory and advanced workshops in motion capture as a continuation of the morning Unreal Engine AI integration session.

Directing Actors for Camera I & II

Studios A & B

Taught by Susan Youssef, CCAM Film Advisor

An introduction to directing a scene for film and episodic. I: Prep for shooting a scene – review a floor plan, block, and shot list. II: Directing the scene with actors using the prep from Part I.
