Visiting DJ Talk: “Cyclic time and spatial sound: Systematic forces expanding electronic music” by Kamron Saniee

On December 7, the Yale community is invited to a talk by CCAM Visiting DJ Kamron Saniee. Saniee is an electronic producer and composer based in New York. He graduated summa cum laude in mathematics from Princeton University in 2013, having previously trained as a classical violinist with master pedagogues Cyrus Forough and Shirley Givens, and taking on additional studies at Mannes Pre-College Division. One of 8 US / 40 international producers selected for the 2016 edition of the Red Bull Music Academy, he has presented his energetic live sets and spatial sound compositions at venues in the US, Canada, Germany, Japan, and Russia. Recent collaborations include those with Lukas Rehm and Maxim Wolzyn at the Spatial Sound Institute in Budapest, Hungary, and a remix for the Tehran-based producer ArtSaves. He released his debut solo work, “Tantric Dub EP”, in April 2017, bringing together classical Persian and acid electro influences.
